Creating micro-landscapes with a CNC Router

Unique incense burners, jewelry, and catch-all dishes originally designed for HOT HOUSE - an independently-run design co-op operating out of the BOK building in South Philly.

Each piece is created from a unique CAD model and sculpted using a relief-carving process on a ShopBot CNC router.

This series represents an early exploration into iterative making in which each piece inspires the next. Using consistent materials and finishes - hardwoods and sumi ink - each piece is a distinct step in the progression of a visual language and manufacturing process while still being cohesive with the collection as a whole.
